A Question in Sri Lanka

The photographic project is still in progress. The artist has created a photographic archive of a hotel building located in the mountain area of Galle, Sri Lanka. The building was established by the Netherlands colonizers, then it was occupied by British colonists, and later, Indian and Chinese companies took over it. Different hotel owners have affected the local politics, economy of the Galle area in various ways. The artist explores the cultural hybridization in the hotel and searches for a new narrative lane to touch the identity’s fluidity within the post-colonialism context.
